Using the foundation cli build, jquery $ is not available by default

I am using the foundation cli build with webpack. I see jquery is being imported but how come the $ reference for jquery is not available.

If I create an embedded jquery in-line right after my app.js, ("body") - i get a reference error but jQuery("body") works. Is there a reason why `` was not included?

<script src="/app.js"></script>
<script>
console.log($("body"));  // reference error
</script>

Thanks Daniel.

Are there any downsides to doing this in the app.js?

import $ from 'jquery';
import 'what-input';

window.jQuery = $;
window.$ = $;
require('foundation-sites');

Ah sorry, I misunderstood. We exported only jQuery on the window object, see https://github.com/foundation/foundation-zurb-template/blob/2ce1e137d63db12715f667a5edcb5b32119c6330/src/assets/js/app.js#L9

You can do window.jQuery = window.$ = $.

Perfect. Thanks to all the devs who worked on F6. It’s really an amazing framework!
